strategic influence for leaders

Getting what we want from others may be seen perceived as manipulative and self-serving. However, using influence tactics to get what you need for the benefit of all parties is a strategy that is crucial and has huge payoffs for leaders and professionals and their stakeholders. Strategic Influence is the art of understanding key aspects of self and others, both similarities and differences, in order to find common ground to move forward in a way that benefits everyone.

In this workshop you will be introduced to key aspects of strategic influence that will help you to be more influential in your approach when getting others on board.

Specifically you will learn:

  • Traits of personality preferences that impact ability to influence or be influenced.
  • A model for assessing ability to influence others and identify gaps that need to be
    closed for influence to occur.
  • Understanding of motivators to influence or be influenced.

You will gain a greater understanding of how effective your current strategic influence strategy is and what changes you can start making immediately to get better results for success.

workshop leader

Cheryl Stafford is a professional certified coach and leadership consultant with over 30 years of demonstrated success in helping individual, teams and organizations achieve their potential. Cheryl uses behaviours, personality and neuroscience as a foundation for helping her clients understand why they do what they do and how to make transformative changes that result in more positive relationship, improved communications and increase in happiness and success.

Cheryl has specialized certifications in neuroscience, behaviour and a personality tools which she uses with her clients to increase awareness of self and others in order to create the space for transformational shift. She works with organizations in a variety of industries including vast experience in nonprofit sector. She is the past president of the International Coaching Federation in Vancouver and was previously the Director, Human Resources for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Full participation in Strategic Influence for Leaders is applicable for 3 points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
