Every organization needs a strong case for support that clearly communicates who they are, why their work matters, and the impact donors can have when they give.
A case for support is one of the most important tools in fundraising. It brings clarity and consistency to how an organization talks about its work, helping teams communicate with confidence in conversations with donors, partners, and the wider community. While it takes thoughtful work to develop, it becomes a foundational resource that can be used across many fundraising activities and communications.
In this workshop, we focus on the process of creating a case for support for your organization. We will walk step-by-step through how to gather the right inputs, shape your core messaging, and bring together the elements that form a clear and compelling case. Along the way, we will also explore how us this process to engage with your community of supporters.
This is a practical, hands-on session designed to support you in actively building or strengthening a case for support, not just understanding what it is. You will leave with tools and structure you can continue to use beyond the workshop as you develop your own organizational case.
Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of:
• how to build a case for support from the ground up
• the core elements that make a case clear, compelling, and donor-focused
• how to refine and adapt messaging for different fundraising audiences and uses
